Candy J. Guss , 65, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday January 18, 2022 at her home.

A memorial visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Candy was born January 14, 1957 in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Gilbert and Dora Hohlen McLaughlin.

She was a certified nurse's aide for Rosewood Care Center, Moline for many years.

She loved caring for her cats, listening to country music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her life partner, Will Grachen, Rock Island; daughters, Rhonda Hammond, Southaven, MS, and Jody Guss, Rock Island; grandchildren, Ethan (Cassie) Troncao, Drake Ramos, Damien Troncao, Danielle Kaesbauer and Jayden Miller; siblings, Debbie Etheridge, Moline, Rick (Kelly) McLaughlin, Port Richey, FL, and Karen (Kevin) Munn, Southaven, MS; several nieces, nephews and additional family.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Machmer; and sister, Carol Wilson.
