Carla J. Benson, 80, of Moline passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, Moline or American Diabetes Association.

Carla was born on February 2, 1944 in Rock Island, IL, a daughter of Carl and Roberta (Slayden) Dreon. She married Gary R. Benson on August 6, 1971 in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on July 1, 2019. Carla worked as a keypunch operator and accountant for Case IH and New Holland.

Carla was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Moline. She enjoyed reading and spending time with family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandkids and she often took them on trips to Bishop Hill. She made each one of them feel special by having a grandma day with each grandchild every year.

Those left to cherish Carla's memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Angela Benson, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jacob (Chad), Kieran and Lainey Benson; brother, Carl "Bud" (Gigi) Dreon, New York; brother-in-law, Loren Benson, Morton Grove, IL; sisters-in-law, Trish Dreon and Nancy and Charles Barbaro, The Villages, FL; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.

Carla was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughters, Regina C. and Jeri Benson; brother, Michael Dreon; and sister-in-law, Judy Benson.
