Obituary

Carma Jane Watson, 75, of Milan, passed away peacefully Sunday March 29, 2015 at the Clarissia Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Edgington. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial will be in Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the family.

Carma Watson was born in Rock Island, IL on June 2, 1939. The daughter of Thomas and Virginia (Davis) Murphy. She married Lewis B Watson on May 11th 1963. They lived in Milan with just a garden between her parents and their house. It was here they raised their daughter Teresa and had many fun times between these two homes.

Carma graduated from Rock Island High School in 1957. She worked at eagle foods in accounting for 20 years retiring at 55 to spend time with her grandkids and travel more.

Carma was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Edgington IL. She and her husband Louie, enjoyed boating for thirty years on the mighty Mississippi, on their boat named the
"Carm-A-Lou".
After boating they became "Winter Texans" for 20 years, traveling to Mission Texas in their RV 1400 miles to sunshine and warmth. They loved all of their friends from Chimney Park on the Rio Grand, and they all became their other family.
She enjoyed Cross stitch, playing Euchre, NASCAR, reality TV shows, and Facebook with friends and family.
Carma is survived by her husband, Lewis; daughter and son in law, Teresa and Mark Dale, LeClaire IA; granddaughter, Lori (Nate) Bader; grandson, Jacob Elliott (Amanda Patterson); 5 great grandchildren, Mercedes, Olivia, Cale, Ivy, and baby Lauren; sister DeAnne (Otis) Anderson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Patrick Murphy in 1995.
