Obituary

Carol was born in Taylorville, IL to Lloyd and Erma (Gill) Solomon. Even though she moved away for her adult life, Taylorville and Central Illinois were home and she always felt a kinship.

Carol spent her life encouraging her family in all of their pursuits, enjoyed playing the piano, and directing children and bell choirs. She delighted in her time with her piano students. Her gifts of music, hospitality and cooking were shared for others to know her appreciation.

She’ll be remembered by family and friends for her quiet observations, quick zingers and genuine caring. The momma eye was never missed when she had a nonverbal message to send her children.

Meeting at Illinois State University, she and her husband, Perry, developed a strong friendship that blossomed into a long and loving marriage. Along came three daughters, Abby, Sarah and Laura and a full life in the Quad-Cities community.

Carol will be missed by her husband, children, Abby (Jon) Davis, Sarah (Will) Glovinsky and Laura Bentsen, grandchildren, Noelle, Ben, Alex, Ezra, Irah and Olivia, sister Diane Solomon, mother-in-law, Mina Bentsen and loving extended family.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents, sister, Dottie Solomon, and father-in-law, Harry Bentsen.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 6 from 4-7 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, IL.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 7, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Davenport, IA, 1401 N. Perry St., Davenport, IA.

Carol can be remembered and honored with memorials to her home church, First Baptist Church, Davenport, IA or FABM (Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians), a conference supporting church musicians that the Bentsen family has attended for more than 30 years in Green Lake, WI.
