A picnic honoring Carol will be held at The Lodge shelter located in Camden Park, Milan, IL at 12:00 pm following cemetery services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause that Carol deeply cared about.
Born on January 13, 1950, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Dean) Parker. On June 14, 1969, she united in marriage with Ronald M. Frana at St. Ambrose Church in Milan, IL.
Carol's passions included crafts, sewing, and quilting, which she approached with creativity and love. Her knack for cooking made her kitchen a welcoming place for family and friends alike, where many cherished memories were created. She had a true gift for conversation, able to connect with anyone. She had a love for music that filled her home with joy (and a constantly moving piano). Above all, Carol's heart was especially drawn to children, many of whom lovingly referred to her as “Mom” or “Grandma.”
Carol is survived by her children, Demetrius Frana, Raymond Frana, Eric Frana, Chad (Molly) Frana. She took immense pride in her grandchildren—Elizabeth, Joshua (Mara), Rebekah, Kurt, Wyatt, Jacob (Faith), Samantha and Lane—and was a devoted great-grandmother to Miley, Beckett, Klay, Stetson, Collins and Orien. She will also be fondly remembered by her siblings: Jerry (Joann) Dunlap, Kathy (Sam) Carothers, and Jane (Dan) Wibert. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald, her parents, and her siblings, Ted Dunlap, Marilyn (Bob) Vogt, and Patsy (Ron) Brown.
