Carol M. Carlson, 95, of East Moline, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  Funeral services will be private at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of Church of Peace United Church of Christ, Rock Island.

Carol was born in Rock Island County, Illinois on December 20, 1926, a daughter of August and Letha Donaway Stevens.  She married Reynold W. Carlson on March 22, 1947 at Church of Peace, Rock Island.  He preceded her in death on July 27, 1987.

Carol worked 29 years as a paraprofessional, teaching special education for the Rock Island/Milan School District 41.

She was a member of Church of Peace United Church of Christ, Rock Island.  She was a former member of the Rock Island Women's Police Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and dice.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Carolyn Cantrell, Milan and Reynold (Pam) Carlson, Coal Valley; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, August Stevens Jr. and sister, Donna Moore.
