Carrie Bragg , 72, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday August 29, 2020 at her family home.

A private memorial service will be 2:00pm on Saturday, September 5, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, services will be broadcast on at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream, for those unable to attend. Public visitation will be from 1:00pm to service time at the funeral home. In accordance with gathering restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a mask and observe social distancing.

Carrie was born on November 19, 1947 in Mt. Olive, MS, the daughter of E.J. and Ella Mae (Smith) Mickeal. She married Johnny Bragg to whom she remained committed to the very end.

She worked for many years as a janitorial technician.

Carrie enjoyed fishing, going to drag races, cooking large holiday dinners, going to yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren. She did foster care for many years, and the fruit of her labor is expressed in every child that she cared for and helped raise.

She leaves to cherish in her memory, her spouse Johnny Bragg. Children: Lisa (Dennis) Butler, John Bragg, Jameison Bragg, Justina Bragg, Aubrey Bragg, Tyler Bragg. Grandchildren: Dennis (Bonnie) Butler, Denzel Butler, Dominique Butler, Dalvin Bryant, Savanna Bragg and Alayah Bragg. Six great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Siblings: Nancy Hughes, Maggie Thompson, Pete (Mae) Mickel, Elestene Crittenden, Harrison (Carol) Mickeal and Mattie Mickeal.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, E.J. and Ella Mae Mickael; brother, Harold Mickael; grandson, Lavonti Gray and great-grandson, Oliver Butler.
