Carrol L. Johnson, 96, of Rock Island, passed away May 28, 2014 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, Ill.. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Carrol L. Freeze was born on May 6, 1918 in Rock Island, a daughter of Charles and Alma Lage Freeze. She married LeRoy Johnson on June 6, 1936 in Coal Valley, Ill.

Carrol worked as a cake decorator for Continental Bakery; assisting in the Baker's Union. She loved playing cards and greatly enjoyed her volunteer experiences for Project Now.

Survivors include her son; James (Nancy) Johnson of El Paso, Ill.; sister-in-law, Shirley J. Freeze; grandchildren, Michael (Concetta)Johnson, Charlie Summers, Teri (David) Lehr ; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Nicolas Johnson, Christopher Lehr, Kelsey (Tyler) Korn, Madison Summers; great-great grandson, Landon Korn ; very special friend, Christine Weddell and many nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Liam Feeley.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; sisters, Grace Egger, Melvadeen DeVoss, Avery Van Spybrook and brothers, Donald, Eldon, Merlyn and Lyle Freeze
