Cecil L. Hovis, 61, of Milan, passed away Monday June 8, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family.
Services will be 11:00am Monday June 15 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the family.
Cecil was born on May 18, 1954 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Cecil and Murriel (DeWeese) Hovis. He married the love of his life, Barbara in Milan.
Mr. Hovis served in the United States Army and Air Force for 20 years. After his retirement from the Army, he loved woodworking and painting.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter, Cristina Colosimo, Rock Island; 5 sons including Steven Hovis and family of Morley, MI; sister, Alice (David) Cox; brother, John (Jenny) Hovis; several step siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry. The family wishes to thank ACS Hope Lodge for the love and support they provided.
