Cecilio O. de Leon, Sr., 71, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015 at his home.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Philippines. Memorials may be made to the family.
Cecilio was born May 9, 1943 in Bulacan, Philippines, a son of Patricio and Escolastica de Leon. He married Corazon Halili in July of 1962 in the Philippines.
She preceded him in death on December 9, 2012.
Cecilio and Corazon moved to the United States in 1994. Prior to his retirement he worked for FBG Service Corp., Rock Island, at Menards.
He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing and watching boxing.
Surviving are his mother, Escolastica de Leon, of Bulacan, Philippines; children (and spouses), Cynthia (Jeremiah) Israel, Rock Island, Carlito (Ida) de Leon and Cecilio (Aileen) de Leon, Jr., all of the Philippines, Crisanto (Joann) de Leon, Rock Island and Cleope de Leon, Philippines; grandchildren, Elijah, Jeremiah, Elizabeth and nine others in the Philippines; several great grandchildren; his brother, Rogelio de Leon, Philippines; and a niece, Kathryn Rivera, and her son Sam, whom lived in his home; and additional family and friends.
Cecilio was preceded in death by his father and his wife.
