Charlene (Milligan) Dreon, 98, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, after a long battle with dementia.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Charlene was known for her sweet laughter and fierce love of family, never meeting a stranger. She was a devoted spouse to the love of her life, “her man”, Earl Dreon for 64 years, never leaving each other’s side. As a farmer’s daughter she learned at an early age how to work hard and applied those work ethics to her positions with John Deere and New Way Corporation. After retiring, Charlene and Earl lived a quiet life, enjoying the company of family and friends.

She leaves behind a brother, Ray Milligan of Arlington Texas; sister-in-law, Jolene Milligan of Sandwich Illinois; and many nieces and nephews throughout the country who adored her.

Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lee Milligan of Arkansas; brothers, Ras Preston, Gordon, George, James and Bob Milligan; as well as two sisters, Jessie Samaha and Josie Osborne.

Charlene will be truly missed by many friends and loved ones, but we know that there will be a great family reunion in Heaven waiting for her to come home.
