Charles E. Hickerson, 76, a resident of Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center, formerly of Milan, died Friday, March 11 at the center.

Private graveside services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

He was born Feb. 15, 1940 in Davenport, a son of James and Marguerite Rodts Hickerson.

Charles was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War.   He was a truck driver, driving for various trucking companies until his disability.  He enjoyed going to the Scamper Inn for breakfast and lunch.

Survivors include his son, Greg, Sugarland, Tex.; grandson, Austin, Davenport; sisters, Nancy (Lyle) Anderson, Milan, Kathleen (Bob) Laleman, Lenore, Tenn.; and brother, Richard "Dick" Hickerson, Orion.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, James, John and William.
