Charles "Frank" Jacobs, 81, of Milan, passed away Saturday March 7, 2015 at OSF Medical Center, Peoria.
A memorial visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm Tuesday March 17, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Followed by inurnment will be in Andalusia Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Andalusia Fire Department.
Charles was born on February 19, 1934 in New Boston, IL, the son of Florence Hand. He married Virginia M. Engle on June 13, 1953 in Milan. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2014. He attended the Joy Schools and Aledo High School. Following high school he started as his carpenter apprenticeship.
Mr. Jacobs was employed as a carpenter with Ellis and McAdam General Contractors, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 166, Rock Island for 35 years.
Charles was a member of Union Local 166, Andalusia Fire Protection District and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Jacobs was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his sister, Nellie Lacaci, Chicago; brother, George Juhl, Moline; niece, Diana (Jim) Forsythe, Rock Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters.
