Charles E. Stewart, 92, of East Moline, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Aspen Rehabilitation and Health Care, Silvis.  Graveside services for Charles will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Those wishing to attend services should meet at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island at 10:00 a.m.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Charles was born on February 13, 1925 in Kewanee, the son of Charles C. and Elta (Williams) Stewart.  He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. after high school.  He married Marilyn Duncan on May 2, 1994 in Colorado Springs, CO.  He worked in sales for the Bowman Company for over 28 years.  Chuck enjoyed spending time with family and traveling with his 5th wheel camper.  He was also an author of several published sci-fi and adventure books.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn; children, Marvin (Carol) Stewart, Poteau, OK;  Lori Stewart, Moline; Cheryl Randall, Rock Island; Mark VanDeWalle, Alexandria, LA; Michael (Karen) VanDeWalle, Tampa, FL ; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a sister, Estelle.
