Cheryl Ann Sand, 63, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at UnityPoint, Trinity, Rock Island.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery-Mausoleum, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Christian wake service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Scott County.

Cheryl was born February 28, 1953 in Rock Island, IL, a daughter of Robert G. and S. Louise Ronveaux Poma. She married Charles R. Sand on July 21, 1987 in Galena, IL.

She was a longtime employee of Eagle Foods, and will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Cheryl was of the Catholic faith. She was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rock Island. She was a gifted photographer and cared for animals, especially her dogs.

Surviving are her husband, Charles of Bettendorf, IA; children (and spouses), Eric M. (Crystal) Randerson, Parker, CO,  and Craig M. (Amanda) Randerson, Davenport, IA; stepchildren, Charles A. (Lindsey) Sand, Iowa City, IA, and Rachel E. (Ken) Sand-Hartman, Mechanicsville, IA; grandchildren, Isabella May Randerson, Cassidy Noel Randerson, Samuel Jay Hartman, Audrey Ann Hartman, Madelynn Rose Sand, and Harrison Edward Sand; brothers and sisters, Frank (Cindy) Poma, Collette (Gary) Thompson, Stephen (Margaret) Poma, Carla Lofgren and Vicki Kakert; and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Thomas Poma.
