Obituary

Chris E. Vesey, 56, of Rock Island passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at House of Fire Ministries, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday at church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Chris was born on April 17, 1966 in Rock Island, a daughter of T.J. and Marie (Stewart) Vesey. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1984. Chris went on to earn a certification in culinary arts by attending Job Corps in Dayton, OH. She loved to cook and host house parties; she was always the life of the party. Chris cherished every moment spending time with her friends and family, but especially enjoyed her time with her kids and grandkids. She was also very dedicated to her faith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bro M Vesey EL and Marquia (Los Angeles, CA), Charles Pugh (Rock Island, IL), Jazmin Pugh (Davenport, IA), and Christopher Pugh (Phoenix, AZ); 10 grandchildren; mother, Marie Vesey; and siblings, Tommy (Barb) Vesey, Harry (Sabrina) Vesey, Jerry (Bessie) Vesey, Glen Vesey, Betty Vesey, Charlene (Wayne) Cole, Dewayne Vesey, Janet Vesey, and Latonya Vesey-Davis.

She was preceded in death by her father, T.J. Vesey; and siblings, Florence Vesey, Nanette Vesey, and Lowerance Peniston.
