Christine A. Cox, 75, Davenport, IA passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at her home. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is entrusted with arrangements.

Chris was born on March 28, 1951 to Llewellyn and Bernadette (Kettenhofen) Cox in Davenport, IA. After graduating from high school, she started her career in the transportation industry. Chris loved driving. For many years she was an over-the-road truck driver who traveled all around the country. Later she worked as transit driver for the City of Bettendorf until her retirement in 2016.

On December 31, 2010 she was united in marriage to Kim Barnhart at United Methodist Church in Davenport, IA where they made their home with their beloved dogs.

In her spare time, Chris loved cooking, especially grilling and smoking meats. She also enjoyed target shooting her pistol.

She will be greatly missed by her wife of 25 years, Kim and their mini-pitt, Polly; and her siblings, Mark Cox, Candy McCloy, and Leah Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and dogs, Max, Bomber, Bubba, and Big Guy.
