Christine E. Criddle, 82, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at her home.  A memorial service for Christine will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 2106 7 ^th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the Chapel.  Inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Christine was born on August 14, 1935 in Oklahoma, a daughter of Lee and Ida May (Jones) Reed.  She married James W. Criddle on January 11, 1954 in Houston, Miss.  James passed away on May 11, 1994.  Christine was a homemaker and greatly enjoyed people.  She loved working at the candy factory, collecting cookie jars, gardening and she was an active volunteer for Project Now.  Christine cherished her family and spending time with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Linda Boyd, Rock Island; Roxann (Victor) Duarte, Rock Island and Donna (Bob Romeo) Smith, Rock Island; grandchildren, Eric Wyers, Stephenville, TX; Heather Moreno, Davenport, IA; Jesika, Jorge and Mario Duarte, all of Rock Island; Jeff Smith, Gilbert, AZ; Lucus Smith, Rock Island; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; siblings, Frances (Ellis) Davis, Lee Jr. (Shirley) Reed, Gary (Connie) Reed, Cathy (Al) Terrell; Diane Reed and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents; grandson, Juan Duarte; siblings, Bill Reed, Wanell Calkins, Doyle Reed, Shirley Parnell and a son in law, Wayne Boyd.
