With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christopher J. Glines, age 43, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, who departed this life on April 3, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. Christopher will be remembered for his passion for life, unwavering spirit, and deep commitment to his family and community.
Born on February 16, 1983, in Rock Island, Illinois, Christopher was the beloved son of David and Jeanette Smith Glines. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Taylor Ridge, where he found fellowship and support throughout his life. Christopher was an ardent sports enthusiast, well-known for his remarkable knowledge of sports trivia. He proudly supported Rockridge High School athletics and delighted in sharing his passion for sports with others. Christopher also enjoyed collecting sports cards, as well as his cherished coin collection. His love for fantasy football was a spirited addition to his many interests.
Christopher is survived by his loving parents, David and Jeanette Glines; his siblings, Jennifer (Jon) Hoteling of Taylor Ridge and Jeff (Emma) Glines of Chicago; and his adored nephews, Conner Hoteling and Killian Huntley, and niece, Chloe White. Additional survivors include his aunts and uncles, Mary Smith, Alma Smith and Barbara (Harold) Shrum and Tom (Fern) Heath, David (Joy) Kinney and Jimmie Fink. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, along with several extended family members.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Christopher on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 18121 134th Avenue West, Taylor Ridge, Illinois. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 12 PM until 1 PM at the church. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family, supporting their needs during this difficult time.
