Cinda L. Matter, 69, of Rock Island, died Friday, April 12, 2024 at home.  A funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 am at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island.  In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

Cinda was born in Galesburg, Illinois on September 18, 1954, a daughter of Bruce Vere and Martha Louise Gillett McMeen.  She married Kevin Matter on December 17, 1971 in Milan, Illinois.

Cinda retired from Ridgecrest Village, Davenport as the Director of Environmental Services.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing and baking.  She loved spending time with her family and friends as well as her beloved dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kevin Matter, Rock Island; sons, Kevin (Amber) Matter Jr. and Daniel Todd (Brooke) Matter, both of Rock Island; grandchildren, Kameron, Kelsie, Kaylea, Brittany, Paige, Darian and Landyn; 11 great-grandchildren; and brother, Randy (Kathy) McMeen, Coyne Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Max and Gary McMeen and Linda Turner.
