Obituary

Cynthia Louise Taylor-Davis, 66, Rock Island, IL passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026 at her home. There will be a visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a memorial service following at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made Gilda’s Club.

Cindy was born on December 16, 1959 in Moline, IL. She was the daughter of Dean and Patricia (Martin) DeBord. After graduating from Rock Island High School, she attended Western Illinois University –Macomb earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.

On July 18, 1981 Cindy was united in marriage to Timothy Davis at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rock Island. The couple made their home and raised their family in Andalusia.

Cindy was a dedicated social worker who served at several different companies throughout her 30-year career. She retired from Alternatives in Moline.

When she wasn’t serving the people in her community, she was taking care of her friends and family. Cindy was the matriarch of the family and the person everyone knew they could count on. She adored her family and especially loved being a grandma.

An avid traveler, Cindy was often exploring new places with her family and visiting her lifelong friends in Tennessee and Washington. She especially loved the ocean, with Hawaii and the Oregon coast among her favorite destinations, and enjoyed collecting lighthouse memorabilia.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tim; children, Kelsey Weathers and Nick (Jaye Rotzinger) Davis; and bonus son, Justin Horton; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia Weathers, Emily Davis, Wyatt Mohr, and Kylie Hahn; siblings, Debbie DeBord, Todd DeBord, Dean DeBord, Kenny DeBord; close cousin, Greg Anderson; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Jayne Kraft, Shari Peterson, Kelli Taylor, and Doris Lambert; as well as many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Taylor; and nephew, Leland DeBord.
