Clarence E. Klauer, 91, of East Moline, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Friday at Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Clarence was born on March 31, 1933, in Rock Island, a son of Vincent and Antoinette (Morlock) Klauer Sr. He married Jacqueline Weinert on May 15, 1954, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2003. Clarence later married Shirley Pellitier on May 5, 2006, in Moline. Clarence was an electrician and co-owner of Farlow Electric, East Moline, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Moline, 4th Degree Life Member of Knights of Columbus Leo Counsil No. 716, East Moline, where he served as Past Grand Knight and Life Member of Loras Assembly No. 260 Knights of Columbus, Davenport, where he served as Past Faithful Navigator. He was a member of the IBEW. Clarence enjoyed puzzles, family time, morning coffee with friends, and having breakfast with his brothers on Saturday mornings. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Pine Creek Grist Mill in Muscatine.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; children, Roxanne (Brian) Baldwin, Clinton, IA., Mark (Kelly) Klauer, Omaha, Neb., Mike (Beth) Klauer, Coal Valley, and Brad (Kim) Klauer, Milan; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Jeff, Ashley, Tera, Nicole, Chris, Andy, Tyler; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Cecilia Kargl, Rock Island; Shirley's children, Steve Pellitier and family, Jerry Pellitier and family, Elizabeth Schwarz and family, and Carl Pellitier and family; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed and Anna Weinert, and sisters-in-law, Judy Weinert, Jean Klauer, Carol Klauer, and Kay Klauer; brother-in-law, Ron Norman; along with several nieces and nephews.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Jackie, son, Kent Klauer; brothers, Father Arnold Klauer, Vincent Klauer Jr, William Klauer, Bernard Klauer, Richard Klauer, David Klauer; sisters, Theresa DeCrane and Janet Norman.
