Clarice Marie Docherty, 90, of Reynolds, died Friday, September 30, 2022 at home surrounded by family.  Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded and she requested a private graveside service at Edgington Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of Edgington Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.

Clarice was born in Buffalo Prairie, Illinois on April 6, 1932, a daughter of Freeman and Kathleen Mader Elliott.  She married Donald B. Docherty on June 8, 1952 at the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Edgington, Illinois.

Clarice proudly drove a bus for the Rockridge School District for 34 years.  She was a great homemaker who loved taking care of her family.  She also served as sexton of Edgington Cemetery for 30 years.

Clarice was an avid gardener who always kept a well maintained yard.  She enjoyed spending time on the farm as well as farming herself.  She also loved traveling and taking family vacations.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 70 years, Donald Docherty, Reynolds; children, Steven Glen Docherty, Rock Island, Sherry Donette Docherty, Rock Island, Scott Blaine (Denise) Docherty, Springfield, Illinois, Shawn Michael (Tina) Docherty, Bettendorf, Iowa; grandchildren, Heather, Jesse, Serge, Britney, Dillon, Annye, Camden and Kai; and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Irene Faye, Doris Castleberry and Myrna McRae and two brothers, Freeman "Gus" Elliott and Keith Elliott.
