Clarice M. Thompson, 97, of Coal Valley, passed away Sunday August 23,
2015 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Trinity
Lutheran Church, Coal Valley. Visitation will be from 10:00am to service
time at the church. Burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund.
Clarice was born on August 23, 1918 in Coal Valley, the daughter of
Louis and Frieda (Kuhlman) Maas. She married Forrest "Fobe" Thompson on
April 4, 1937 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death.
She had been employed at Royal Neighbors of America for 22 years, until her retirement.
During the war she worked at Feltex making tubes for shells.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, riding horseback and dining with friends.

Mrs. Thompson was the oldest Charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Coal Valley, where she had been active in the Bible Study for senior
citizens and Socialable Seniors Group.

Survivors include her sister in law, Margaret Harris,
Cousins, Jim Kuhlman and David Baraks,
Several nieces, nephews and other cousins,
and loving friends, Mike and Barb Byrne, Sue Bernhardt and Debbie MacFarland.
