Claudine A. Hurlbutt, 78, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017 at UnityPoint Health, Trinity, Rock Island.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Claudine was born April 19, 1938 in Rock Island, a daughter of Theodore and Madeleine Lundy Drovesky. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1956. Claudine and Willis F. Hurlbutt were united in marriage on April 22, 1961 in Rock Island.

Claudine was a paraprofessional for the Rock Island/Milan School District 41 for 18 years. Following her retirement she continued volunteer service with the district.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rock Island. In earlier years, she volunteered with the church's Bible School and also with Girl Scouts. Claudine loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed nature and the outdoors.

Surviving are her husband, Willis, of Rock Island; daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Doug Elsbernd, Ogden, IL; son, Timothy W. Hurlbutt, Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Nathan and Emily Elsbernd; sister, Madge Hobart, Rock Island; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Claudine was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Claude, Walter and William Drovesky.
