Clayton D. Evins, 64, of Aledo, IL, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, IA.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  A service of remembrance will take place at 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.  A celebration of life gathering will take place from 12:30 – 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place in the Andalusia Cemetery, Andalusia, IL.  Immediately following the inurnment – please join the family at Ducky's Lagoon, 13515 78th Ave W, Taylor Ridge, IL 61284 to continuing celebrating and sharing stories of Clayton. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Clayton was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 29, 1959, a son of Gerald D. and JoAnn Clark Evins.

Clayton worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years before becoming a tool and die maker for H & I Corporation (Hon) in Muscatine, IA for 35 years.  He had just retired on May 1, 2024.

He was an avid outdoorsman who spent most of his life outside.  He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was an excellent marksman and considered by many to be a pro-fisherman.  He also enjoyed cooking.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Shallon (Daniel) Richard, Denmark and Jennifer (Jason Amble) Evins, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, and Natalya Richard, Collin Evins and  Vaeda Amble; siblings, Brian (Nanette) Evins, Kathy Walker and Jody Vanderham, all of Matherville, IL; and his four-legged companion, Louie, the dog.

He was preceded in death by his father; siblings, Gerry Massey and Sherri Stowe and nephew, Ryan Evins.
