Cleo M. Freeman, 80, of Milan, passed away Friday November 27, 2015 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.
Services will be 1:00pm Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11:00am to service time.
Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
Cleo was born on January 17, 1935 in Moline, the daughter of James and Ruth (Hale) Taylor. She married Leslie Docherty. She later married Edmund R. Freeman on January 17, 1985 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2011.
She had been employed by the United States Post Office for over 15 years. Earlier she had worked as a secretary for the Quad City Electrical Contractors Association.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island. She had been active volunteer with the Rock Island Historical Society, enjoyed scale model railroads, genealogy, gardening and was a Ham Radio Operator N9TGB.
Survivors include her children, Melonee Docherty, Illinois City, Teresa Docherty, Rome, Kari(Gene) Hess, East Moline; grandchildren and spouses, Chad(Laura) Hoover, Milan, Tarah(John) Houk, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Stella, Benny, Levi, Blakely; step children, Cheryl Williams, South Bend, IN, Raymond Freeman, Peoria, Grant Freeman, Mark Robeson, all of Peoria, Tina Garcia, Rock Island, Francese Walker, Peoria, JR McMahon, Decatur, IL; and a sister, Shirley Lafollette, Alpha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and children, Joangela Freeman and Brenda Nesbit.
