Connie Sue Benningfield, age 63, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. Her enduring spirit and unwavering smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be left in care of the family.

Connie was born on June 1, 1962, in Rock Island, Illinois, to the loving parents, Everett "Bud" and Helen (Lyons) Benningfield. For several years, she dedicated her life to caring for others in the healthcare field as a certified nursing assistant, showcasing her compassionate nature. As an avid crafter and a passionate cooker and baker, Connie found joy in creating memorable gifts for her friends and family. Above all, Connie treasured her family, particularly the moments she spent with her beloved grandchildren. Despite facing the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis for several years, Connie approached each day with courage and a radiant smile, never allowing her struggles to define her. Her beautiful soul, enduring strength, and loving kindness touched the hearts of everyone around her. Connie is survived by her loving spouse, Joseph Griebe; her devoted daughter, Amanda (Jonathan) Mehrmann; her caring stepdaughter, Tammy Richards; her grandchildren, Gavin and Natalie; several step-grandchildren; and her siblings, Larry Benningfield and Vicki Benningfield. She is also remembered fondly by her nieces, Tara (Robby) Keppler, Ashley (Shawn) Olson, and Alyssa Ernst (Logan Wiskus); her great-nephew, Cooper; and her great-niece, Lucy. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Helen Benningfield.
