IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie L.
Husted
December 27, 1945 – April 12, 2016
Connie L. Husted, 70, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City. Connie was known for her generous heart and her unique sense of humor, which inspired a ton of true belly laughs over the years. If you met her, she may have jokingly introduced herself as Precious, but the truth is, she really, really was.
The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Her final resting place is the Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan because she loved animals; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society due to the illness she courageously battled; or the Andalusia Community Baptist Church because of her faith.
Connie was born on December 27, 1945 in Cambridge, IL, the daughter of James L. Massey and Bernice McKee Stewart. She married Donald Husted on April 25, 1964. She worked as a cashier at Eagles in Milan. Connie loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed antiquing, rides in their Corvette, showering her adopted dogs with love, gardening, reading, and calligraphy.
Survivors include her husband Don; daughters Tammy (Lynn) Kerres, Milan, and Marsha Husted, Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Adam (Johnna) Kerres, Lindsay Hocker (Tony Watt), Kyle Hocker, and Abby Kerres (Dylan Mayers); great-grandchildren Adalynn and Raylynn; siblings Don (Janet) Massey, Frederick, MD, Bob (Delores) Massey, Oregon, IL, JoAnne (Danny) Whitley, Taylor Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, James Lane Massey and Bernice McKee Massey, stepfather Elmo Stewart, brother Garry Massey, sister Sandra K. Massey, stepsister Marilyn Bremer, and sister-in-law Barbara Pearson. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com.
