Curtis W. Welsh, 52, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his residence with his family by his side.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Private family burial will be at Beulah Cemetery, Orion. Memorials may be made to the family.

Curtis was born December 27, 1961, in Rock Island, the son of Richard and Vicki (Brumbaugh) Welsh. He married Lorrie Anderson on May 13, 1989 in Moline. Curtis owned and worked as an auto mechanic at A-1 Curt's Auto Service. He received his ASE certification in Michigan, and enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie Welsh, Rock Island; his children, Michael and Brandi Welsh, both of Rock Island; his grandchildren, Brecken and Brycen Welsh; his siblings, Rich Welsh, Milan, Val (Tracy) Smith, Rock Island, and Charles Welsh, Rock Island; his step-father, Glen Baugh; and his nieces and nephews, Heather (Jeremy) Higgins, Lindsay (Brad) Tracy, Dustin Welsh, Lacy (Dale) Wingler, and Josh (Ginger) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents.
