Dale D. Stigers, 85, of Milan, passed away Saturday June 7, 2014 at UnityPoint-Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday June 11th at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday June 10th at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Church of Peace, Rock Island.

Dale was born January 8, 1929 in Oskaloosa, IA, the son of Leland and Edna (Awtry) Stigers. He married Shirley Nowack on December 19, 1953 at Church of Peace in Rock Island, IL. Dale worked as a master carpenter at Priester Construction. He was also a member of the Gray Beard Korean Veteran Association, Rock Island Boat Club, Milan American Legion, and the Mississippi Valley Country Association and Western Music.

Dale will be remembered by his wife of 60 years Shirley Stigers of Milan; his two sons Thomas (Kathy) Stigers of Milan and Randy Stigers of Reynolds; his three daughters Patricia Crawford of Rock Island, Susan (Brian) Keller of Wisconsin, and Sally (Larry) Piasecki of Sherrard; his ten grandchildren; his seventeen great grandchildren; his brother Glenn Stigers; his four sisters Elsie Caves, Laura Awtry, Lucille Thompson and Niaomi Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers Roy, Melvin and Estil Stigers; and his five sisters Fern Roberts, Eathel Piper, Opal Kitzman, Letha Nielson,and Marilyn Steele.
