Dale E. Taets, 94, of Moline, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home.  Services will be 10 am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, at a later date.  Memorials may be made in care of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1608 13th St., Moline.

Dale was born in Hilldale, Ill. on August 28, 1924, a son of Camiel and Alma Vercruysse Taets.  He married Marilyn Nusbaum on April 11, 1948 in Rock Island.

As a young man, Dale and his siblings worked on the family farm.  He later worked as a foreman for Quad City Construction where he retired in 1989.  Following retirement, Dale managed the Rock Island Lions Club for many years.

Dale was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 71 years, Marilyn Taets, Moline; children, Robert Taets, Naperville, Ill., Laurie (Paul) Meiresonne, Milan and Joel Taets, Brea, Calif.; grandchildren, Nicole (Rob) Aguirre, Jennifer (Dan) Schwarz, Jim Taets and Brian (Jessica) Meiresonne; great-grandaughters, Preslie Schwarz and Charlie Meiresonne; and sister, Alice "sis" Fisher, Pahrump, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter - Jill Meiresonne and siblings – Joseph, Leonard, Donald, Elmer "Bud" and Albert Taets and Rita DeKeyrel.
