Dalton R. Franks, 85, of Decatur, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center, Decatur. Services for Mr. Franks will be 11 am, Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Dalton Franks was born on January 20, 1933 in Brilliant, Alabama, a son of Henry and Corrine (Henley) Franks. He married Mary Frances Threadgill on September 6, 1952 in Mississippi. Dalton was a baker at Eagle's Bakery for 48 years. He was a member of Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Moline. Dalton enjoyed taking walks and was active in church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Franks, Decatur; four children; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and two sisters. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; a great granddaughter; three brothers; and three sisters.
