Daniel "Dan" Patrick Parr, 72, of Milan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, 2026, with his longtime partner, Chris, by his side. 

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Memorials may be left in care of the family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Dan was born on May 25, 1954 in Rock Island, a son of Mark and Donna (Mitchell) Parr Sr. Together, he raised two sons alongside his former wife, Jacqueline Carroll. Dan retired as an assembler from Case New Holland in 2004. 

Dan's hobbies included golfing and spending time with family, especially Chris. He really enjoyed telling stories, recalling many fun tales from his days at the Case factory. He was also an avid jokester, playing multiple pranks on family members. Poor Gare-bear, being the subject of many. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his longtime partner, Christine Hochstatter; sons, Daniel (Marissa) Parr and Allen (Jenna) Parr; grandchildren, Miranda (Matt) Jones and Carson Parr; step-children, TeNeille (Chad) Gripp, Teresa (Chuck) Buysse, and Travis (Heather) Hochstatter; several step-grandchildren; siblings, Mike Parr, Jeff (Carol) Parr, Steve Parr, Holly (Terry) Adamson, and Sam (Janine) Parr; and several nieces and nephews. 

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Parr Jr; and sister in law, Mary Parr. 

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
