Daniel George Nicola, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at his home.  Private graveside services will be held at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Dan was born September 13, 1938 in Rock Island, a son of Willard G. "Nick" and Camilla (Raymond) Nicola.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Carpenter for many years, retiring in 2000.  Dan owned several businesses in the Quad Cities and had been employed by the Carpenter's Union.  He also bought and remodeled houses.  Dan married Marna Heyvaert in 1969 and three sons were born to their union.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Robert, Steve and Tim; granddaughter, Gabrielle Nicola; sisters, Rosalie Atkins and Mary Lou Glancey and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
