Daniel L. Lievens, 65, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

A Memorial Mass will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday July 8, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM with a Rosary Service at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Private family burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Care and Control or to Jordan Catholic School.

Daniel was born March 29, 1950 in Moline, the son of Elmer F. and Linnea (Nelson) Lievens Sr. He worked as a teacher until 1985 then became a Principal in Monmouth for one year before becoming the Principal at Jordan Catholic School for 20 years.

Daniel is survived by his children, Justin Lievens, Denver, CO, Caroline Lievens, St. Louis, MO, Noah Lievens, Rock Island, and Allie Lievens, East Moline; siblings, Sandy Murrah, Iowa City, IA, Fred (Pat) Lievens, Moline, and Deb (Wayne) Sharer, Milan; brother-in-law, William McCormick; sister-in-law, Pat Lievens; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Lievens; sister, Bonnie McCormick; and brother-in-law, Merle Murrah.
