Daniel L. Malone, 72, of Cleveland, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis Silvis. Services for Dan will be 12 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan and visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Dan was born September 22, 1953, in Davenport, a son of Gene and Stella-Beverly (Anthony) Malone. Following high school, Dan enlisted into the U.S. Army as a Medic. After his service for his country, he was honorably discharged.
After the military, he married Chris Ann McGuire on March 24, 1973, at St. Pius X Cathedral, Rock Island and she sadly preceded him in death on March 2, 2020. Together, Dan and Chris created their family and lived the American Dream. Dan loved Chris so much and was proud of his 3 sons. His family continued to grow, and his sons gave him many grandchildren, he loved them with all his heart.
Dan worked for Mass Custom Hauling as the Head Driver Steward. He enjoyed his job and made great friends and colleagues before he retired.
Dan's passion was music, in which he was very talented. He loved playing and teaching guitar the most.
Survivors include his children, Andrew (Yesenia) Malone, Silvis, Clayton (Melodie) Malone, Rock Island, and Moses Malone (Fiancé, Tyara), Rock Island; 9 grandchildren; brother, Ally (JoDee) Malone; nephew, Jeremy Elliott-Malone; nieces, Aliza (Fiancé, Trevor) Malone, Rock Island, Mindy Malone, East Moline, and Gina Malone, Rock Island; sister-in-law, Connie (Mark) Malone, Clinton Iowa; and a host of extended friends and family.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Stella-Beverly; wife, Chris; brother, Mark Malone; and niece, Kelly Malone.
