Daniel R. McKeon, 63, of East Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his home.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 28th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, where visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Daniel was born February 10, 1951 in Dalhart, Texas, a son of Raymond D. and Lois A. (McCoy) McKeon. He was the fourth generation of his family to work on the railroad. His many years of service on the railroad began with the Rock Island Line, then with Iowa Interstate, and he retired from Union Pacific in Chicago in February of 2011.
Daniel enjoyed gatherings with friends and family, and taking roadtrips. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bears fan.
Surviving are his sisters (and spouses), Pat (Robert) Wells, East Moline, Nancy McKeon, East Moline, Connie Resetich, Silvis, and Colleen (Bill) Carlson, Woodhull, IL; brother, Michael (Ann) McKeon, King George, VA; sister-in-law, Stacy McKeon, Bloomington, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue McKeon; and brother, Timothy McKeon.
