Danny J. Koester, 74, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at his home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family with arrangements.

Danny was born on February 8, 1947 in Rock Island, a son of Leonard and Leola (South) Koester. He graduated from Rock Island High School and married Christine Williams on August 30, 1985 in Rock Island. Danny was a re-worker at the J.I. Case Company and also delivered newspapers and magazines for the Dispatch-Argus and Quad City Times. Danny was a member of the Rock Island Eagles Club. In his early years, he coached baseball. Danny also enjoyed dirt track racing and was an avid NASCAR fan.

Those left to cherish Danny's memory include his wife, Christine; children, Doug Koester, Danny Koester II, Eric Haut, Darren Koester, David Koester, Steven Koester, James Koester, Christina Koester, Jeremiah Koester, and Patricia Koester; grandchildren, Danny III, Trey, Breanna, Danielle, Eric John, Drew, Jazmine, Gracie, Angel, Annabelle, and Josiah; ten great grandchildren; sister, Joanna Womack; and many extended family members and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his daughter, Deniece "Dee Dee" Koester; grandson, Christopher Koester; and brothers, Richard and Donald Koester.
