Darien M. Ramsdale, 23, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. A live-streamed memorial service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 2312 18th Ave., Rock Island, and can be viewed online at https://youtu.be/QahSWN1KeYc. A Celebration of Life Gathering to celebrate the way Darien would want will be held from 4:20 to 10 p.m. November 13, 2021 at the Hickory Creek Event Center, 3504 Hickory Grove Rd., Davenport. Darien was born December 4, 1997 in Rock Island. He loved fishing and playing tennis. Darien also loved music and often played it loudly during his stay at Select Specialty Hospital. You would frequently see staff dancing down the hallway to the music. Above all, Darien enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Although his life was too short he made such a significant impact on everyone that knew him with his infectious smile and humor while showing more strength and perseverance than most people could endure. His positive attitude and outlook on life was contagious. He hoped to become a motivational speaker and eventually write a book sharing his experiences.  He aspired to help others face adversity and challenges with strength and courage.

Those left to cherish Darien's memory include his father and mother, Rev. William and Wendy Ramsdale, Davenport; siblings, Rob (Julie) Ramsdale, Davenport, Brannon (Allison) Ramsdale, East Peoria, Nick (fiancé, Brianna Rohs) Ramsdale, Hillsdale, Devin Jordan, Moline, Keonna "KJ" Ramsdale, Rock Island, Brayden Ramsdale, Madysen Ramsdale, and Cameron Ramsdale, all of Davenport; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Ian Washam, Travari Angel, and Ryan Rivera.

Darien was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Donna Ramsdale and James and Patricia Maynard.

Darien's family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport for all of their care and support.
