Darlene Doris Beemblossom, 95, of Milan, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her children and loved ones on Monday, February 16, 2015.

Funeral service will be 12:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Milan American Legion.

Darlene was born January 2, 1920 in Milan, the daughter of Edward and Faye Potts Crosby. Darlene married Stanley Flaherty in 1939, he preceded her in death in 1940. She married Lyle Franklin in 1940 and raised her family. She later married Robert "Speed" Beemblossom in 1983 and retired from Sword's Veeneer Lumber Co., that same year after 33 years of service. Darlene was a life member of the VFW and the Milan American Legion. She also was a member of the United Methodist Church in Milan. Darlene was a loving, caring, hardworking person whom enjoyed raising her grandson Mark Kirkhove. She enjoyed her travels with Speed in their RV and the family and friends parties she held.

Survivors include her children, Larry Franklin, Davenport, Sharon Lipe, Milan, Danny Franklin (Kyle), East Moline, Lyle "Tiny" Franklin, Milan, and Ruby Franklin, Rock Island; siblings, Dick Crosby, Rock Island and Lorraine Slyster, Carbon Cliff; daughter-in-law, Marcia (Joe) Shissel; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Darlene was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; son, Bucky Franklin; daughter Karen Eberts; son-in-law, Otto Eberts; and daughter-in-law, Judy Franklin.
