Darlene E. Moody, 85, of East Moline, formerly of Port Byron, passed away Thursday November 21, 2024 at Colona House, East Moline.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 5, 2024 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at 1:30 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island.

Darlene was born on October 28, 1939 in Moline, the daughter of Leonard Bledsoe and Nellie May Braithwaite. She was a graduate of Moline High School. Darlene married Gerald "Jerry" M. Moody on April 18, 1959 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Rock Island.

Mrs. Moody had been employed with Illinois Bell Telephone Company for several years.

Darlene was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Rock Island. She loved spending time with family and especially her close group of friends, reading and shopping.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Caleb Moody, Christopher Moody and Annabelle Moody; great granddaughter, Ellie Moody; daughter in law, Kayla Truitt; special friends, Sue Trask, Sherry Mohr and Marylin Stewart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Moody; her parents; and sons, Chris Moody and Tim Moody; very special friend, Mary Murrens.
