Darlene D. (McCauley) Crim, 53 of Crete, IL, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Generations at Elmwood Park.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, IL.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family and/or mailed to 1110 Welbek drive, South Bend IN 46637.

​Darlene was born on October 17, 1968 in Jackson, MS, the daughter of Charles L. McCauley and Elizabeth Jackson.  She married Roderick Crim on September 15, 2013 in Chicago Heights, IL. Darlene owned and operated, Essence of Beauty Hair Salon and was a phenomenal cosmetologist and beautician. She was also a licensed cosmetology teacher and massage therapist.

Darlene enjoyed time she spent with her family, doing hair and dancing.  She was a devoted member of Bishop B.E. Goodwin Memorial Cathedral in Chicago Heights, IL. Darlene loved God and lived a very spiritual life.  She cherished every minute of her life living it to the fullest, spending time with her friends and family.

​         Darlene is survived by her husband, Roderick Crim; children, Timothy (Jessica) C. Davis Jr., Essence E. McCauley, and Daniel C. Teague; step sons, Damone Crim, Roderick CrimJr., and Jamie Crim; grandchildren, Keilani Davis, Timothy Davis III, Carter Davis, Harlem Davis, and Kalena Davis; 4 step grandchildren; siblings, Trudy (Damon) Williams, Jessica Jackson, and Rose Mary Harris.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles L. McCauley Jr. and Marcus Jackson.
