Darrin A. Vanthournout, 36, of Moline, passed away Monday July 1, 2019 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 – 7:00pm, Thursday July 11, 2019 at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Inurnment will be Friday in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors, those wishing to attend should meet at 10:00am at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home.   Memorials may be left in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project or The United States Veterans Service Dogs.

Darrin was born July 11, 1982 in Rock Island, the son of Joseph and Susan (Bartling) Vanthournout.

Mr. Vanthournout had been employed at Group O as a forklift operator. He had previously been employed at John Deere as a welder. Darrin was a United Sates Army Veteran having served with the 123rd Field Artillery Unit, Milan.

Darrin loved the New England Patriots, fishing, fireworks and helping out around the house.

Survivors include his parents, Joe and Susan Vanthournout, Milan; son, Brenton Vanthournout, Coal Valley; brother, Jason (Jeanna) Vanthournout, Milan and niece, Emmalee Vanthournout, Milan; large extended family and many loving friends.
