Rev. Darryl Wayne Ellis , 57 of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday April 12, 2021 in East Moline.

Services will be at 2pm, Saturday, April 17, at the Ellis Cemetery, Pattison, MS. Arrangements in Mississippi are entrusted to Thompson Funeral Home, 612 Coffee St., Port Gibson, MS. Memorials may be made to the family.

Darryl was born April 29, 1963 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a son of Lucy Ellis. His early life was spent in Port Gibson, MS.

Darryl worked in customer service for many years.

He was a man of faith, had a strong belief in God, and was an ordained minister. He enjoyed engaging in spiritual and faith discussions with others.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Danielle Ellis, Rock Island; siblings, Jacqueline (Eddie) Williams, Powder Springs, GA, Russell (Denetress) Ellis, Vicksburg, MS, Yolanda Ellis, Jackson, MS, Ronnie Ellis, Cedar Hill, Texas,  Russell Ellis, Michelle Ellis, Pattison, MS, and Eddie (LaSand) Ellis, Statesboro, GA; Aunts, Ruby (Bob) Brown, Longview, TX, and Maple Jones, Longview, TX; a host of nieces, nephews; cousin, Dale Ellis; and additional family; and special friend, Joe McGee.

Darryl was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Ellis-McGee.
