David R. Bruno, 68, of Rock Island passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until service time.  Memorials may be made to the family.

David was born on October 19, 1947 in Rockford, IL, the son of Robert and Beatrice (Baker) Bruno.  He was employed by the IUOE Local #150, Rock Island, as an operating engineer.  David loved camping, fishing, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

David is survived by his children, Rory Bruno and Lindsey Bruno, both of Colona, JoAnn, and Doug; grandchildren, KayLee, Madison, Rory Jr., Savannah, Benjamin, Mitchell Jr., Christopher, and Alyiah; siblings, Mary Bahler, Janesville, WI, Mike Bruno, Richard Bruno, and Tony Bruno, all of Waterloo, IA, Steve Bruno, Davenport, John Bruno, Dubuque, IA, and LeeAnn Wilson, Des Moines, IA.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Gene Bruno, Tom Bruno, and Pete Bruno.
