David E. Byrd, 65, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at Allure of Knox County, Galesburg, IL.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

David was born May 21, 1958, in Davenport, IA, the son of Lonnie Ray and Wilma (Barks) Byrd. He proudly served as a United States Marine. David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching movies. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Lonnie Ray; children, Lindsay (Tony Voorhis) Thompson, Benjamin Byrd, Justin Byrd, Dustin Byrd, Kelly Vanspybrook, and Samantha Byrd; grandchildren, Hannah, Payton, Olivia, and Taber; siblings, Denise Teuscher, Vicky (Glenn) Wilkerson, and Lonnie Ray (Sara) Byrd; and sister-in-law, Tammy Byrd.

He was preceded in death by his mother Wilma, brother, Stephen Byrd, and brother-in-law, Scott Teuscher.
