David S. Carlson, 63, of Milan, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.  Services will be private at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Burial will be private at Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds, Illinois.  Memorials may be made in care of the First Presbyterian Church, 1620 1st Street W., Milan, Ill. 61264.

David was born in Moline, Illinois on August 11, 1957, a son of Duaine and Marie Rathbun Carlson.  He was a graduate of Rockridge High School.

David worked several years as a security guard for the Iowa/Illinois Gas and Electric, now known as MidAmerican Energy.  He retired as a MATCO Tool Distributor.

David was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milan.  He enjoyed visiting with mechanics and going to different dealerships while selling tools.  He loved attending family gatherings, especially when a great meal was provided.  He also enjoyed going to Mulkey's and indulging in the Friday night catfish special.

Those left to cherish his memory include his aunts, Judith Danielson and Alice Vogt; and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Kathy Carlson, grandparents, Wilbur and Lila Rathbun and James and Margaret Danielson and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
