IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David G.
Dunnett
April 22, 1951 – December 18, 2025
David G. Dunnett, age 74, of Reynolds, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Mercer Manor in Aledo, Illinois.
In honoring the wishes of his family, private services will be held. Per the family and David's wishes, the family will forego a formal public visitation. The family encourages all who knew David to enjoy a cocktail of their choosing with their cherished family and friends this holiday season in remembrance of an extraordinary man. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Reynolds is assisting the family during this time. Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to the Reynolds United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Born on April 22, 1951, in Belvidere, Illinois, David was the cherished son of James and Stella (Cook) Dunnett. On June 19, 1976, he united in marriage with Sue Moyer, with whom he would raise three sons: Wesley, Jason, and Joshua. David dedicated his career to the fields of welding, fabrication, and heavy mechanics, leaving a lasting impact through his work. A true lover of the outdoors, David found joy in spending time hunting and fishing in his younger years and walking his faithful dog in his later ones. He often spent hours immersed in his passion for motorcycles and cars, reflecting his inventive spirit and dedication to craftsmanship.
David leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, including his sons and their spouses, Wesley and Kayla, Jason and Nicole, Joshua and Dana; grandchildren, Brinley, Aislinn, Hayden, Hutson, Harlow, and Kady; as well as siblings Ronald Dunnett, Gordon Dunnett, Lucy Green, Kathy Warzynski, Sharon Burton, and Barbara Daschner. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois. In this time of sorrow, we remember David—a loving father, esteemed tradesman, and friend to many. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
