David E. Wilson, 68, of Taylor Ridge, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy. Services for Mr. Wilson will be 11 am, Wednesday at the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Taylor Ridge. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Edgington Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home, Quincy. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

David was born on November 5, 1947 in Moline, a son of Robert V. Wilson and Janet McQuady Wilson. He married Suzanne Rieger in May of 1972. David served in the United States Navy for four years aboard the USS Cromwell before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired from the Marine Corps in April, 1988, after 20 years of military service. He was very proud of his military service. David later worked as a EMT with Trinity Ambulance and for Enterprise Car Rental. He was also a volunteer EMT with the Andalusia Ambulance Service. He was a member of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church and served the church in many capacities. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include his mother, Janet Jack, Rock Island; daughter, Wendy (James) Bond, East Moline; a brother, Keith (Debra) Wilson, Taylor Ridge. step sister, Carol Harrison, Bettendorf; step brothers, Richard (Marlo) Jack, Ely, Iowa and the Rev. Duane Jack, Silvis.
